Market Vision:

Ensure a successful Extra Care programme for the development of new schemes and making best use of existing schemes. Enabling access to good quality specialist housing for adults to live as independently as possible:​​

Key aims are:

  • Ensure good response to tender opportunities through consistent approach to onside Care and Support (formerly Peace of Mind)
  • Deliver 540 new extra care apartments over the next 5 years (9 new schemes)
  • Ensure the best use of the existing 14 Extra Care sites
  • Achieve our savings objectives via Extra Care helping to minimise placements into long term residential care
  • Fully implement recommendations of the Independent Living Review.

1 Year Delivery Plan by end of 2024

Description:

Agree future approach for onsite care and support levels and funding approach.

Key Milestones:

  • Agreement to onsite care and support level and funding approach to ensure consistency
  • Secure necessary approvals to progress with new sites at Roacheway and Coppins Court.
  • Recommissioning care and support function at 4 of the existing extra care sites using new approach to onside care and support mentioned above
  • Launch stepping stone home programme 
  • Review needs analysis to ensure pipeline reflects where we need provision and as well as intelligence on where it's proved possible to secure sites. 

 

3 Year Delivery Plan by end of 2027

Description:

New sites at Roacheway and Coppins online

Key Milestones:

  • New sites at Roacheway and Coppins now open
  • Further permissions for sites in the pathway on time
  • Stepping stone home approach rolled out and evaluated.
  • Existing sites fully utilised
  • Consistent approach to onsite care and support fully rolled out.

 

7 Year Delivery Plan by 2030

Pipeline of new sites progressed toward delivery

Key Milestones:

  • Pipeline of new sites is on time and progressing to delivery
  • Consistent application of care and support levels and funding approach
  • Good response to tender opportunities from the market
  • Extra Care first option considered for accommodation and support needs by ASC Ops

Capacity and demand management

  • To have pipeline of schemes to support increasing need

Delivering good quality services

  • To have CQC rating considered during tender exercises for onsite care presence

Technology capability

  • To have sites fully designed to accommodate latest care technology

Promoting Financial Sustainability

  • To ensure sites available to working aged adults with needs that fit the model

Diversity, Equality & Inclusion

  • Ensure criteria for placement on site broadened to include working aged adults where needs fit with the model

Climate and Environment

  • To ensure climate and environmental issues considered in design and planning of new schemes
