Essex County Council (ECC) want People with Learning Disabilities to:
- have long, happy, healthy lives as they grow older
- stay fit, active and well as far as is possible
- have access to the same health treatments and interventions as everyone else.
- be supported to know what the early warning signs are and get support as soon as they become aware of change.
- Know how to get appropriate support to help manage any aging-related illness and ailments.
- be supported by people who have the right skills and attributes with understanding of the issues that ageing brings.
- be supported to think ahead about planning for a healthy and fulfilled older life.
