Displaced International Workers - Essex, Southend, Thurrock, Hertfordshire & Suffolk Support

We're here to help

On this page you will find out how to access support to find alternative employment with another sponsor providing care services in Essex (including Southend & Thurrock), Hertfordshire and Suffolk. We want to help you, and are working hard to find vacancies. But we cannot guarantee a vacancy for everyone.

See below for the steps you should take if you need to find a new care provider sponsor. Please only follow this process if you have received official notification that your current sponsor has had their license revoked.

Complete our online form so we can understand more about you. We can't provide support to you until you have completed this step. The form asks you to consent to your contact information being passed to a third party as this will help us to support you into employment better.

Important information before you proceed - please read

  • It is your responsibility to regularise your immigration status in the UK either through finding a new sponsor or another route.
  • We cannot provide legal, or immigration advice and you should seek independent advice.

  • You must take steps to seek a new sponsor in addition to any support we offer.
  • We cannot guarantee we will be able to find you a new sponsor and cannot guarantee you will find a new job through this support.
  • If you do not have the correct skills, experience, or values to undertake a role in care, we are unable to support you.
  • You are not obligated to accept any job offers you receive
  • The support service is voluntary, and you can disengage at any time. You should notify us via email if you no longer want or need to access support.
  • If you accept a job with a new sponsor, regularise your stay through another route, or choose to leave the UK voluntarily, please notify us via email - essexsuffolkhertsir@essex.gov.uk

For care providers who want to recruit a new worker from overseas you must now first attempt to recruit a worker from within England who needs new sponsorship. If you are based in, or recruiting in Essex, Southend, Thurrock, Hertfordshire and Suffolk complete our online form.

Your details will be passed onto the appropriate Local Authority for response. They will send you contact details of international workers who match your requirements. Where there are no matches we will contact UKVI to confirm you have approached us.
