In partnership with Southend and Thurrock Safeguarding Adults Boards, we are hosting a free essential learning session: Sexual Safety: Recognising, Responding, and Safeguarding in Practice. By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Recognise and respond appropriately to concerns of sexual assault in health and care settings, including incidents involving patient/patient, staff/patient, and staff/staff.
- Understand what to do when a sexual assault is disclosed or suspected, including immediate actions and safeguarding procedures.
- Challenge common myths and misconceptions around sexual abuse to promote a more informed and supportive safeguarding culture.
- Navigate complex situations where individuals may lack capacity or are vulnerable.
- Identify and access support pathways for victims, including how to signpost individuals and families to appropriate services and resources.
