This course looks at how we can support people with a learning disability who may /may not have Autism to ensure they have a good quality of life as they grow older. It is important to remember that people with Learning Disabilities /Autism will often show signs of ageing earlier than the rest of the general population and ageing should therefore not be solely attributed to chronological age.

We will cover areas such as identifying ageing, accommodation, keeping active and involved, health and future planning. Both days must be attended to gain your certificate.

Essex is looking at having a kite mark for providers who can evidence skill and aptitude in supporting people with LD/A as they age, and this course will form part of the criteria for gaining the kite mark.

To book a maximum of two places per provider please  email  jenny.peckham@essex.gov.uk

Please note: non-attendance on the day, without notice , will mean that you lose priority for any future bookings.

We often have a waiting list for our courses and will have used valuable budget to cater for attendees.
