PICA, ARFID & Polydipsia Awareness - AWD Providers

A 3-hour awareness session for AWD Providers covering PICA, Polydipsia and ARFID
 

This 3-hour training is for caregivers seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills in supporting individuals with Pica, Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) and Polydipsia (excessive thirst).  

The course will provide delegates with a full understanding of the causes, symptoms and impact of Pica, ARFID, and Polydipsia on individuals’ physical and mental health. It will explore intervention techniques and management approaches to support individuals affected by these conditions.
 
 

A variety of teaching and learning methods are used including interactive group discussion, videos and case studies.  


Training includes: 
 

  • What is Pica, ARFID, and Polydipsia 
  • Causes of Pica, ARFID, and Polydipsia
  • How to recognise Pica, ARFID, and Polydipsia 
  • How a diagnosis is made in Pica, ARFID, and Polydipsia 
  • Treatment approaches for Pica, ARFID, and Polydipsia 
  • How to manage individuals with Pica, ARFID, and Polydipsia 
  • Assessment of knowledge Our engaging and interactive training programmes are delivered by highly experienced Registered Nurses. 


A Certificate of Attendance is awarded on completion of the course.
