- Description: Fully Funded online training live webinars with Training2care. Data from LeDeR reviews has shown us that there are some common themes involved in the often avoidable deaths of people with a learning disability. Epilepsy is one of the health factors that is not always understood and so contributes to poorer health and, at times, death. We are offering the opportunity to providers to attend a two-hour training webinar with Training2care on Epilepsy awareness. This course is aimed at care assistants and support workers and will increase an understanding of the causes and triggers of seizures, help to identify seizure activity and the appropriate action to take in the event of a seizure. Content includes: <ul class="bull pad-left2 mar-bot1"> <li>Understanding what Epilepsy is</li> <li>Causes of Epilepsy</li> <li>How it is diagnosed</li> <li>Types of seizures</li> <li>Signs and symptoms of seizures</li> <li>Recovery position</li> <li>Auras</li> <li>Status Epilepticus</li> <li>SUDEP</li> <li>Triggers for seizures</li> <li>What to do in an emergency</li> <li>Different treatment options including AED’s, VNS, Ketogenic diet, Surgery</li> </ul>   This webinar will take place on Wednesday 17th November from 14:30 to 16:30 and we have 20 places available. Certificates will be issued by training2care for this course.
